What We Do
Beacon Innovations’
primary business is offering professional consulting services for
the health care and telecommunications industries. The principal
purpose of this web site is to allow persons interested in our
company to learn about our capabilities, experiences, and services.
Visitors to our web site do not need to reveal personal information
or register with our web site in order to view this information.
Beacon Innovations
also sells products on our web site through its online store.
Information about our products resides on web servers that third
party companies provide and maintain. Beacon Innovations purchases
shopping cart and other merchant services from Microsoft’s bCentral
Commerce Manager function. Microsoft’s bCentral capability manages
our catalog of products and provides a secure shopping cart
transaction. Microsoft also supports other merchant functions
including manual order processing and site activity reporting. You
can view Microsoft’s bCentral privacy statement at
http://www.bcentral.com/.
Information
Collection
Personal information
is requested on our web site when users purchase items from our
store. Buyers placing orders on our web site must provide certain
personal information (such as name, address, state, ZIP
code, email address) and payment information (such as credit card number,
expiration date, cardholder’s name) to complete order processing and
payment. Buyers, upon placing a shopping cart order, receive a
confirming email.
Other optional information (such as telephone number) is requested during an online purchase. The buyer
can elect to provide this information on a voluntary basis.
Buyers downloading
our printable order form to make a telephone, fax, or email purchase
are requested to provide all of the above information and some
additional information to facilitate order processing and servicing.
Information Use
Collected
information is used to confirm and fulfill customers' orders, to
bill customers, and to service customers. If we have trouble
processing an order, the information is used to contact the user.
Visitors to our web
site are also able to request promotional material about our company
and its service offerings by contacting the company using the email
address, telephone number, or fax number available on our web site.
Cookies
Cookies are small
amounts of software code placed on buyer’s computers when buyers
access the Store to purchase products. Cookies are used to identify
the buyer and track products in the buyer’s shopping cart. Cookies
are not used to create permanent profiles of users or track viewer
preferences and they do not remain on computers long after buyers
complete their purchases.
Log Files
Our web hosting
companies collect some user information such as referring domains, browser
type, and web pages accessed. This information is used to track and
evaluate use of the web site and to report on the web site’s
performance. The web hosting company aggregates data and reports
information in a format that de-identifies individual users.
Special Offers and
Updates
Established members
(prior clients) will occasionally receive information about our
products, services, or special deals. Out of respect for the
privacy of our users, we present the option to opt out of receiving
these communications. Please see the Opt-Out section.
Customer Service
We communicate with
customers on a regular basis to provide requested services and
support their needs. We reply for the most part by telephone, fax,
or email. Customers may request a preferable means of communication
that Beacon Innovations will try to use.
Disclaimer
Though we make every
effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal
information when required by law wherein we have a good faith belief
that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial
proceeding, a court order, or a legal process served on our web
site.
Third Party
Intermediaries
We use an outside
company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to
process credit card transactions. The names of the companies
providing these services can be obtained by contacting Customer
Service at Beacon Innovations. Contact information is located at
the end of this document.
Service Providers
We partner with
other third parties to provide specific services. We share names or
other contact information that is necessary for the third party to
provide these services. We do not rent or sell information to third
parties that we do not partner with.
Choice/Opt-Out
Users who no longer
wish to receive promotional communications or products information
may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to
unsubscribe in the email or contacting our Customer Service.
Links
This web site
contains links to other web sites that are offered as a convenience
to our users. Beacon Innovations
is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.
We encourage our users to read the privacy statements of each web
site to determine if the site collects personally identifiable
information. This privacy statement applies solely to information
collected by this web site.
Surveys
From time-to-time,
our site requests information from users via online surveys.
Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and the user
therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose the requested
information. The requested information typically includes
demographic information (such as business type, job title, ZIP code)
and feedback about users’ use of the web site. From time to time,
users are surveyed to obtain their opinions about new product or
service concepts that Beacon Innovations is considering.
Security
Beacon Innovations
takes precautions to protect our users’ personal and payment
information. When users submit sensitive personal or financial
information via an online purchase from our web site, their
information is securely protected with 128-bit encryption using
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) transmission capability.
While on a secure
page, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Microsoft
Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator becomes locked, as opposed
to un-locked or open when users are just “surfing.”
Supplementation of
Information
In order for this
web site to properly fulfill its obligations to its customers, it is
necessary for us to supplement the information we receive with
information from third party sources. For example, personal
information and credit card information is used by our credit card
processing company to qualify the credit user prior to approving a
credit purchase. Other checks may also be performed such as
validating the user’s address to reduce the possibility of
fraudulent use of a credit card.
Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Information
Personal Information
If a user’s personal
identifiable information changes (such as address, phone number, or
email address) or if a user no longer desires our service, we
provide a way to correct, update, or delete/deactivate user’s
personally identifiable information. This can usually be done by
emailing or contacting Customer Service. Customer Service contact
information appears at the end of this statement.
Notification of
Changes
Beacon Innovations
reserves the right to change its Privacy Statement from time to time
to reflect user feedback or changes in the way that Beacon
Innovations conducts business. If we decide to change our privacy
statement, these changes will be posted to this document and the
Last Revised Date located at the beginning of the Privacy Statement
will be updated.
